Ennirism: The faith of the children of Yndri

Ennirism: the most common faith had among humans in the second era (827-1458)
the story goes that Yndri was the first human, and he was created to give Melië the daughter of Ennir and his wife Siba a friend and a companion. Yndri was made from a stone a peach and a twig, those three items representing the other creations the stone for the giants and dwarves, the twig for the elves and goblins, and the peach representing the mysterious creation of the divines. Yndri and Melië eventually fell in love, after a long and cherished friendship. They later asked Ennir for more companions and so six other couples were made these 14 individuals made up the <Hysritha> or the first people. The Enniric tradition has it that all humans are descended from these 14 people. The children of the Hysritha are called the vóda and the vóda are the ancestors to the ''modern'' humans the Nirra.
a little bit of history
The holy book of Ennirism is called the book of Yndri and it is the history of the divines as told to Yndri by Ennir and the story of mankind through the ages. The first part details the myth of Ennir asking Kaiena and Erallokea how they made their peoples (the giants and elves respectively) and Ennir's subsequent creation of the Nirra. Afterwards comes the story of the life of Yndri and then his son Endromir and Endromir's son Udrom and his son Draamrin and his son Tomir and his son Sonri and his son Naanir and his son Menin and his son Banin and his son Ponrin and his son Haanrin and his son kenrin and his son Danrin and his son Nenrin.
in the time of Sonri the Draco-Deic war began and in those days Nirra lived long lives, nearly as long as the elves after the devastation of that war the lives of the humans (Nirra) were significantly shortened. The first Era is the creation of mankind all the way to the end of the Draco-Deic war in 825. Naanir dies in 829 and his son Menin is 14. Nenrin has three sons Ganrin, Vgrodrin, and Vliderko. 951AW ganrin and his brothers are all the age of maturity and inherit the large lands of their fathers, ganrin gets the city of nain named after his father (originally) and the surrounding country vliderko gets the land along the siba river (originally the northern river only but then vgrodrin wanted to earn his own land) vgrodrin the second born went on to fight a war against the giants in the west with his followers and win a land of his very own, that land would become Ugrodén.

So... the book of Yndri contains ALL of that as well as various rituals and spells that draw upon the power of Ennir. The book also contains sections in secret writings meant only for the initiated (the eventual monster hunters) that detail the proper techniques of monster disposal. other than that there are some songs and poems written by various kings and fancy priests.

Common beliefs and practices:

  • in the second era a pious Ennirite/Ennirian would have silver medallion or amulet on them at all times usually in the shape of a small sword
  • Justice and strength are virtues most highly regarded by Ennirites as also is information
  • each week on Nirral the first day on human calendars the pious will go in the evening to a sacred grotto to hear the local Rithasniri (a kind of sacred storyteller) tell stories or read poems from the book of Yndri. after the reading food would be served and an evening of song and drink typically followed.
  • reverence for swords and weapons, warriors and weapon craft
  • belief in the divinity of kings
  • bloodlines are very important and one should know his or her own line back to one of the Hysritha
  • The ennirites typically emulate the nenese tradition that the firstborn gets the land the second born goes to the army and the third goes to one of the holy orders
  • wealthy families plant a peach tree for every child that is born to them.
  • killing monsters is seen as an act of worship
  • storms are said to be Ennir and Erallokea fighting epic monsters, the thunder is either the screams of the beast or the sound of the sword of Ennir clanging against its shell and the lightning is the spell of Erallokea seeking to smite it
  • burning of monster bones carved with things the burner is grateful for is an act of gratitude to Ennir and((superstition)) the way the bones crack is said to reveal something about the future to the practitioner.
  • when they die they go to Nirren the paradisiacal fields and groves that is believed to be in the sky behind the clouds
Speaking of holy orders there are technically three, but the average fellow has access directly only to two of them. these being the Palace of Justice (headquarters of the monster hunters) and the Palace of Knowledge (headquarters and training place of the Rithasnirra)
in the second era one would send their thirdborn to either of these locations. by the third era thirdborn are first sent to serve as monster hunters and after fulfilling ten years of that they may become a rithasnirri.
the royal families of the countries of Nen and Ugrodén and Blidecra are held in reverence and they each are the heads of the faith in their countries seconded by the high inquisitor and dzhisocrithasni. every 14 years the current monarchs are required to visit the city of Kennire the holy city of Ennir and to update the book of Yndri with the history of  their reigns and to plant a peach tree. usually a grand festival accompanies the monarchs on their ritual journey and the people get to feast.
the monarchs are also supposed to visit their personal enniric temple each Nirral to ask for prosperity for their people.
